Material researcher and Product designer, based in Porto, Portugal
Mayra Deberg is a multidisciplinary designer living in Porto, Portugal. She has a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Estácio de Sá University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and a master's degree in Industrial and Product Design from the University of Porto, the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Engineering (FBAUP and FEUP).
Throughout her research, she has developed projects aimed at responding to environmental challenges in the construction sector, with a special focus on issues such as the scarcity of natural resources and the production of waste. She is currently a student in the Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering at FEUP and her research is dedicated to the recycling of construction waste and industrial by-products for the development of circular materials.
In addition to her work in circular design, Mayra has a strong interest in Murano Glass, where she explores textures and their tactile qualities, while also introducing other materials such as waste bricks and stones into her projects.
